The only 4k@60Hz I can find with a reasonable price is from cablematters

Can't do 4k@60Hz, unfortunately, otherwise would have been a great device.

I just can't find a reasonably priced 4k@60Hz hub for Thunderbolt compatible laptops.

it's going to be a while. those are licensed by hdmi, so likely cost much more for license... i have seen them available, but usually MUCH more

I just found this out also, bought a macbook yesterday and probably spent half the day trying to find a hub with 4K@60Hz , eventually just settled for a standalone adapter, and a couple single usb c to usb3.0's

Is 4k @30hz that bad? I'm tempted at the price but wondering if it'll matter that much since I'm mostly doing office work with some YouTube. Thanks!

Yes. You will definitely notice the ghosting when you move your mouse or dragging a page across the screen. I am a firm believer that people can't tell the difference between 100hz, 120hz and 144hz. 99.999% of the time are the guys who thought they compete "professionally" and swear they can tell are just guys who play a lot of games. ;-)

I bought this with the Ethernet and love it. Does exactly what I need and only one cable going to my Mac. Spent a long time looking for a solution and there wasn't any others unless you want a dongle on your desk.

It doesn't provide power right? (NM, I see the Amazon doesn't provide a power supply either)
