Dumb question -- if I don't do any guitar/vocals work, do I have any real use for the Scarlett device?

What work DO you do? If you're not recording anything, I don't see why you would need this.

Would this be good for a son that plays the drums and wants to make drumming YouTube videos?

Maybe I'm just picky, but I got the CR3's last year with the sony headphone deal and sold them after a week. They have good reviews, but they are pretty mediocre.

I have this exact setup and I love it. I do some light audio recording, but just the quality jump from most generic computer speakers is pretty astounding. I have my computer and my turntable hooked up to them and they sound real good.

Also if you play games online and you use voice chat, you can pick up a cheap condenser mic and suddenly you have a borderline professional streaming setup.

Well, it kinds depends. Do you like listening to music and you have a shitty audio setup currently? Then this is probably a great route. I use it primarily for game voice chat and listening to music and I'm a fan

I saw someone else say something similar on a previous post with these, but I'm a big fan of mine. I might have Cr2's, but I figured there wouldn't be a huge difference

I have $5 in Adorama rewards I can redeem. That shouldn't create any issues with the rebate, right?
