Disney announced last month they will be offering themed magic bands for a nominal fee of $10 per magic band, which typically retail for 24.95+. These discounted upgrades are only available for those with a reservation. The solid bands are still free but the themed ones sold out pretty quick last time they were available.

They have 8 options currently available now. I was having issues placing my order but tried in different web browsers and it finally processed.

If you currently have a resort reservation click on the link to change your magic bands to see what options are available.

What exactly is this offer?

Are you saying they charge $10 for each magic band when staying at a resort? I thought they were free with your resort reservations?

Your link takes me to the section of 'My Plans' so I'm assuming it's a reservation that you should have already.

Oh, that part was not in your OP so hard to tell exactly what you're posting about here. You might want to update the OP with more details.

What is a magic band? What is the difference between a solid and themed band?

Magic bands are RFID bracelets used at Disney World. They can be used as your room key, park ticket, fast pass, and have charging privileges.

People staying at Disney resorts have always received free solid color magiic bands for their stay. However, Disney also sells various themed magic bands... I believe prices on those are $25 and up.

Now, Disney is offering people staying at Disney resorts the themed bands discounted to $10 for their stay. This promotion was really popular, and they quickly sold out of the themed bands. Now they're starting to come back in stock.

Thank you. If I understand correctly, the band itself doesn't come with benefits other than convenience. We still have to purchase the fast pass, park ticket, and lodging separately. And for $25 or $10 when discounted, the themed ones just look cooler than the solid ones.

correct.
You get the magicbands when staying on a disney owned property.
the magic bands is essentially a key for your room, links to your park passes to enter the parks, serves as a way to pay for items (linked to major credit card), used to link to all photos taken at the park (stationed photographers and ride photos are automatically linked)
the standard colors comes with your time of stay, upgrade them for $10 for designs..
My wife typically designs her own with craft paints and such, you could also buy stickers for them online that are water resistant

Thanks for the post though, I didn't know this was an option. The wife wanted some themed versions last time we went so we just bought them outright from the shop Disney site (with a small discount), but I don't think this was available when we went. I'll keep an eye out for this next time we go. Although, I'm sure the wife won't like the options they offer at that time.

Magic Band FTW! Wish they were available at the other Disney resorts.
