Question is, would it be better to spend 30 more to get this or keep the previous gen with a smaller 3 Ah battery (RY40430a) that I got for 99 bucks.

Originally purchased online, so can't do a return/rebuy at the clearance price of 43. boooo...

Saw this in store today and considered it myself. Also saw the 40v lawnmower regular $299 marked down to $249.

Better to get the EGO for everything. Look at the youtube reviews comparing both.

I don't think there is any question the Ego is better and more "gas-like" but is this Ryobi and their 40v system a better value?

It's far more expensive to get into the Ego ecosystem for 3+ tools than it is Ryobi. I'm not sure which is the better value.

Ryobi's warranty is a nightmare and getting parts for a unit over a year old is almost impossible. Spend a little more for a peace of mind and go with ego.

keep the one you have. the blowers do the same thing, which is to say you aint using either to blow a bunch of leaves, grass clippings and dust are all these are good for.
