Seems like a decent price for the dual fuel option. I know walmart currently has a 4kw for $299 with the dual fuel option, but a little less running watts. Not an out of this world deal, but still a pretty good deal.

Wrong, a twin/2 cylinder will power most standard homes. V8 come on man, do a little research before making such absurd claim.

So besides running the a/c units would this power a whole house if you had it wired to do that?

Not unless your house is really tiny. I have one of these and it will run a fridge, a freezer, the blower on the furnace and a few lights. Definitely not an entire house.

Unlike most lowend gennys this one does 240v which is a big deal for backup power for a house. Does both eides of the line for easy connection to multiple 120v circuits. You just need to manage your loads...and forget about the electric stove for gosh sakes!

Well maybe if you stager the loads but look to start at 10-12Kw or higher to do the job

A whole house generator large enough for central air conditioning and an electric dryer and electric stove running at the same time would be really large and probably require a V-8 engine..

And this is still a good deal if you are in the market, rarely goes on sale below this price. Normally the $300 range when on sale.

This isn't the cheapest this model has been, but close enough. These go on special fairly frequently but why does factory authorized outlet never have a special on a dual fuel inverter model like the XP2000EH so can power my gadgets safely too?

Any idea how I can tell what I will need? For a fridge and my ac unit? The basics? I have a 1200 sq ft home
