I got my card probably four years ago. Best website or app for me to compare cards? I have a 144hz 1440p monitor. I doubt my card now can push that framerate

I'm gonna grab this before it disappears! Got a t3600 with 8gb ram, the 1620 and win 10 pro I just grabbed the other day for 129. I'm gonna double the ram in a quad channel setup and should be setup for some 1080/1440p gaming for the next few years.

userbenchmark.com! use https://gpu.userbenchmark.com/Com...3639vs3923 and click on the name of the graphics card to change it to a different ones.

This won't push 144hz at 1440p either for most games. Only very light games like Fortnite, Rocket league, etc, unless you're lowering quality settings this won't be able to run that high fps at 1440p. It's roughly half as powerful as a GTX 1080, which I own, and my 1080 doesn't do 144hz at 1440p in anything that's new and graphically impressive. Destiny 2 runs at 144hz at 1080p, but only just -and Destiny 2 is the easiest "modern" game to run that I've played in a long time.

Basically, this card will do 1080p Ultra settings at 60fps in anything, but I'd never recommend it for 1440p 144hz.

A good site to get a rough idea of gpu power vs others is userbenchmark.com
It's not perfect but it's good for general performance differences.

For example: https://gpu.userbenchmark.com/Com...3603vs3923

at a glance it looks like a 1080 demolishes this card by a huge amount, but if you scroll down to games you will see that the 1080 only gets 42% higher fps in the tested games for the site.

I undervolted my rx 580 because fans were so loud and card ran hot when it at 100% usage. Now it runs cooler and silent with little or no noticeable change in fps.

From everything I've been researching it seems that the Vega 56 cards are the way to go right now with their performance but they are $100 more than this card. I'm waiting to see if the prices drop even more the the new card announcements over the course of this next month and see if I can get it or a 64 even cheaper.

Excellent advice. I undervolted my XFX 580 8GB card, too and saw temps drop with no fps loss.

you are comparing the wrong tier of graphics card. The RX580 is considering as a budget GPU. The corresponding GPU from the green party should be 1060.

I'd say value or mainstream GPU... the bulk of GPU sold are under $250, so budget is a misnomer.

Its faster than the 1060, plus games, plus 2GB more VRAM... It also uses a lot more power for the performance... HOWEVER, it's still under 185w which, to me, is still solidly in the midrange to budget area of power consumption. Like almost any 500w PS could run this card, or even a high quality 400w, and the cost to run isn't that much unless you game A LOT.

Nvidia just took the crown for power efficiency, for a while now.
