The Dyson V6 Fluffy Cord-free vacuum has 75% more brush bar power than the Dyson V6 Cord-free vacuum. Cord-free. Hassle-free. Up to 20 minutes of continuous suction. Crevice tool fits into tight gaps and narrow spaces. All Dyson cordless vacuums quickly convert to a handheld for quick clean ups, spot cleaning and cleaning difficult places. ~ persian_mafia

I totally disagree on the assertion that the v6 is outdated. Sure, the v8 and v10 have some improved features like how the dust bin opens and closes. That doesn't make the v6 outdated, especially where it counts: max suction.

My v6 runs on high/max suction about the same length of time as my v8 and v10 in real-world use. I own all 3 models, and they all die about the same time on max suction. Let's be honest, the only way these cordless units can come anywhere close to competing with a corded is on max suction, and even then, the corded wins.

These units will be outdated IMO when Dyson makes a cordless that actually has the suction power of a corded vac, and comes with easily removable batteries, and a battery that can run on max suction for 30 minutes or more. That's not happening anytime soon, so IMO, the v6 isn't going to be outdated anytime soon.

I've used other vacuums prior to getting a Dyson many years ago, and the Dyson definitely performs better and quieter at the time. However, in the last few years, competing companies have made breakthroughs that allow them to compete in the market, with a lower price than Dyson.

Having said that, will I continue to be a Dyson customer? Yes, because for the 10-20% difference in price, I don't see the point of choosing other brands. I also don't buy the newest Dyson such as the V11 that costs $400-$500+ either.

In regards to this post, I have the V6 until recently upgrading to the V7. The V6 is a great vacuum for ~$150.

I bought this the last time around at this price. Excellent cordless vac for the price, much better than the competing eureka and hoover cordless vacs in the $100-120 price range (which i have and do own). Battery life is supposed to be shorter than the newer 7s and up, but it still lasts long enough to vacuum pretty much our entire house on low.

One word of caution - this "fluffy" version is primarily for hard floors, which I have throughout my house. It will vacuum the occasional rug, but it's less effective. If you have a lot of carpet, I'd go for something else or look to add on the standard head.

Cause not only can they now charge you for filters, but replacement batteries, as all they make now are cordless vacuums (from my understandings)
Is that why make it so pricey?

Yes, very good price. But I can't comment on suction power compared to, say, the DC7. I'm here for that purpose. Anyone?

Is this good enough for vacuuming carpeted stairs? How long does it last? Will a V8 deal come soon?

From my experience, DV6 dies too quickly cleaning in the high setting, and the high setting is still less powerful than a corded Dyson.

They all die in the same amount of time on the high setting...

The Fluffy model only comes with the soft roller and not both carpet and hardwood floor?

I guess that's the difference between an Absolute model, which has both.

Agreed, I wouldn't pay more than $150 for a v6
