Google Nest Protect Battery 3-Pack $165.50 @ Target YMMV

Earlier in the month Hotspur posted these as a clearance deal at 30% off. That thread has reported some stores are at 50% or even 70% off at this point so here is a fresh thread.

I got the last pack at the one local store that has $165.50 but expect other stores to follow. Apparently many stores received additional stock since the first deal post so check brickseek.

People have found these in electronics as well as in endcaps in housewares. The deal is only on battery units, not wired.

Note that Target policy is not to price match prior purchases or other local targets on clearance items.

Also note that these units will be doorstops 10 years from manufacture date and there is no way to view that on the package. My purchase was made in July 2018 and will stop working in July 2028. So I guess a double YMMV.

But by far best deal I've seen on these units, I'm trying to get my whole house on Protect at this price.

Cheers.

Bestbuy has the wired 6-pack for $615, so that's $105 off the individual pricing

Not the hottest deal by any means, but a small savings over full price.
I haven't seen any deals on the wired version for months.

Not sure I totally understand, online it shows no discount but sounds like you are saying many locations are selling them discounted but at varying amounts?

Individual stores are clearancing them out at different prices. Online store doesn't usually reflect that.

Just a reminder: Nest Protect uses Energizer Ultimate Lithium AA (L91) batteries. NOT alkaline or rechargeable battery.

You can but batteries will run out very fast. It was designed to work with the Energizer Ultimate Lithium AA battery (wired version also need 3 batteries as backup power supply).

Do you think I can get the difference back if I bought it for $230 and the store marked it down?

Yup however Nest suggests that original 6 Lithium batteries that are included will last for 5 years which is pretty good IMO. Within those 5 years just try to find a slickdeal for lithium batteries and store them for future use. Also within app you can turn off a couple of features to save battery life like turning LED brightness to LOW or not having any LED when lights go out or when someone enters the FOV it will provide a "pathlight" which is pretty cool but can be turned off/low
