Actually it's one of the best movies. I wish they'd release a 4k disc of it, though. or at the very LEAST the remaster with both theatrical and director's cut versions. They only released it with both outside the US, I believe. or actually I think they did in the US temporarily, too, but all I know is at some ;point they started having it with only the theatrical version.

That remaster was reportedly far superior to the original BR. I assume digital versions would be the remaster, too, but I want discs.

Yeah I have one with both cuts and I got it in the US- can't remember if it is dvd or Blu-ray though. I also have bought this movie twice in digital and considering buying this one even though I'll probably never watch it lol

You're right, Arrow released the version with both cuts only briefly in the US a few years ago. It is now out of print. I was able to pick up a copy at Barnes and Noble a few years ago for a little over $20 after it was hard to track down. It's a big box with a case for each cut's desperate disc and a book.

I wonder if this has Inxs never tear us apart in the opening unlike on Netflix with a different song. DVD might be the definitive edition if the music licensing rights are still jacked up.

Was reading the "About this Movie" section and it says "This brand-new 4K restoration, carried out exclusively for this release by Arrow Video, allows a modern classic to finally receive the home video treatment it deserves". Interesting!

I found it on google express a few months back, ordered it, then sure enough got an email saying it was canceled. I knew it was too good to be true to get it for around $20-$30. lol. And I don't think I[d pay over that since it will inevitably come out in 4k at some point. But I'd sure like to have the nice transfer. Maybe I'll buy the theatrical version if it goes cheap (the arrow release that was only theatrical cut) to hold me over. Most prefer the theatrical, anyway. I sometimes think it's interesting switching between them, though.

yeah, it's not actual 4k, but people said that transfer form Arrow is much, much better than the original releases.

Another movie that had a crap transfer and later got a good one is Pan's Labyrinth... I bought the criterion version of that, but haven't gotten around to watching it.

Yeah, that's why I thought it was a bit weird they called 4K restoration, maybe on the works! I was actually not aware the theatrical and director's changed it for the viewer so much, not even sure which version I've been watching all this time. Am assuming this is the Theatrical version.
