I just bought this the other day. paid 320+ tax. I like it. our Heisense roku TV backlight died. No complaints so far. uses its own browser to access youtube. works great with Alexa via my smart things hub. you sync it to the alexa device in the alexa app. I can say "Alexa play the wire season 2 episode 1 on Fire TV". It will ask if i want to play it on Hulu or Netflix, then turns on TV and starts playing the episode. Sometimes it plays the last episode in the series that I watched others it opens to TV if I watched it last. Its improved in its accuracy since we stared using it a week ago.

I wish the tiny remote had a back light. I also hate the dedicated buttons at the bottom. My dog will crawl on the remote and suddenly neflix takes over.

We also use the fire tv app to set it up and sometimes search for things Alexa does seem to understand. Our google home is much better at finding youtube videos, alexa just doesn't search youtube.

One thing I miss is he Phub channel on roku, no good alternative on firetv. Everyone just goes through Kodi, which I have no experience with.

Its a light tv that can be mounted. all connections are on the back right side of the tv (if you are looking at the back) It uses a standard 2 plug polarized tv wire so you can buy super long ones if you need.

The reason we are moving to fire tv is it works with Alexa better and it I am hopping to drop our HomeRun/Plex/Nvidia/harddrive/router set up and just use Recast. I am hoping the 1tb recast goes on sale on prime day. ALso going to buy a prime tv for our other tvs and a Echo Show 2nd gen.

the sound gets much louder than all of our other TV, The picture is bright. I am not really an Audiophile of video nerd.

Let me know if you have any questions. I check the full website every once in a while.

One who is picky about the sound shouldn't rely on the HDTV speakers. The TVs these days are merely displays. Anyone serious about sound quality really need to have external speakers

was interested in this awhile ago, bestbuy showed they had them in stock, showed up to store 15 min later and none were left. Bought a 55" TCL roku LED from target an hour later for $279.99 - very happy with it so far. Heard the sound on the toshiba was meh and i'm picky about that

I bought this during the last sale. The picture is horrible out of the box. I used the settings from rtings and it made a huge difference. It still has the soap opera effect on some random movies which I can't figure out why. The sound is ok. It's in a bright room and picks up reflections off of the blinds. The apps run smoothly. For $300 it's worth the money for a 55 inch.

Is there a theoretical price point where companies will stop producing TVs? $300 for a 55" 4k smart tv and $150 for a 50" 4k seems kind of low... as in... how do they make profit off of these?

Toshiba is Hisense now. Lots of Japanese companies are just licensing the brand now so your older TV has nothing to do with the current TVs.
