According to YouTube reviewers this phone will auto update to Android Oreo 8.1

If you've never purchased at HSN before, apply the code "NEW2019" to your order for an additional $10 off.

Also possible to further sweeten the deal with 5% off via Paypal+Discover quarterly promotion. Discover has promotion of 5% cashback when using Discover card with your Paypal. Link your Discover card to your Paypal account using the link on the Discover card website on the page where you activate the offer. https://www.discover.com/credit-c...endar.html Then at checkout select Paypal on the HSN website as your payment method.

well the trick has always been to transfer exiting number to the new phone and then back off the phone to your prior phone, so not sure that text explicitly ends the gravy train of getting minutes/time and dumping phone (used or not)

I have one of these and it updated to Android 8.1.0. First Tracfone I've ever had that did that. It downloaded the update and installed it at least a dozen times, so something wasn't working right, but it finally figured it out. A family member had the same experience with this phone too.

Thanks for this post. I bought this phone a couple weeks ago for $79.99. Was able to get a price adjustment for the difference.

Thanks, was looking for a low end Android phone for testing. The fact that this comes with minutes sealed the deal.

Promotional minutes are not transferable and are only guaranteed on the handset included in the order.

Looks like the gravy train is over for existing Tracfone ppl looking to top up their account.

EDIT: This is the CDMA only model of phone. There appear to be other models that are both CDMA and GSM. How confusing!

You're right, this isn't anything new - these offers have said that (in fine print) for phone deals for several years & mine have all added to current minutes (I have a phone good till end of 2021 with several thousand minutes).

Does transferring the existing Tracfone number to a new phone bring along the minutes? So in theory, you wouldn't need to transfer back to the original phone? Also, does it merely add minutes or also add the year of service?

Transfers current time & service plus adds the additional year & minutes.

yes, the transfering back is only if you want to take minutes from the new phone without actually opening the box or using it (to resale)

Bought this phone about 1.5 years ago and using it as my outdoors beater and it's been excellent. Speaker is very good, screen sharp, battery excellent, has a high quality feel to it.
