If you love hard science fiction even a little, I cannot recommend this book (and series) highly enough. The scope and scale of Liu's storytelling is beyond anything I've experienced in decades of reading asnd I guarantee you've never read anything like this before
If you purchase something through a post on our site, Slickdeals may get a small share of the sale.

I believe the description above is incorrect. This is a book and a good one....The Three-Body Problem is the first chance for English-speaking readers to experience the Hugo Award-winning phenomenon from China's most beloved science fiction author, Liu Cixin.
Set against the backdrop of China's Cultural Revolution, a secret military project sends signals into space to establish contact with aliens. An alien civilization on the brink of destruction captures the signal and plans to invade Earth. Meanwhile, on Earth, different camps start forming, planning to either welcome the superior beings and help them take over a world seen as corrupt, or to fight against the invasion. The result is a science fiction masterpiece of enormous scope and vision.

This is part of a trilogy and most people like myself consider the sequels to be progressively better, even if the first book received the Hugo Award. I'll second the praise for these books. Some of the best Sci fi and literature I've ever read.

Based on the positive reviews of the author, I'm going to assume that the movie "The Wandering Earth" did *not* do justice to Liu Cixin's writing?

If you like science fiction you can't *not* like this book (and the rest of the trilogy). Liu Cixin takes creativity to another dimension. Insanely good.
