Might be an unpopular opinion, but I can't believe these are still commanding this kind of price premium for such a dud that sat on shelves until Nintendo basically recalled them all because they weren't selling. I picked up a refurb unit from Nintendo directly for not much more than this *2 years ago* and it was in like new condition, unlike a Gamestop "premium refurb" will be, good luck playing that lottery to find a non-roached unit. Granted, no games came with mine, but who cares when you can just mod it and have whatever you want. Sadly, mine has been collecting dust for quite awhile now after playing the few exclusives I wanted to play. Maybe if you can sell the games off to recoup some of your investment this would be slicker. These things should be $99, tops IMO.

Couldn't you say the same thing about all portable electronics with a battery? What screen issues are you referring to?

FYI, I bought a "premium refurbished" one about a month ago, figured I was better off doing that than a pre-owned. I got a white console, black controller (which is fine but a little obnoxious), and all of the cords, including the a/c adapter, were 3rd party. I took it back to a local gamestop and they swapped out all of the cords for OEM ones they had in the back, so I ended up keeping it, but I cannot imagine a scenario where there was any difference between a premium refurbished and a used one. I'm confident they took mine as a trade-in and marked it as refurbished.

Seems like a good deal if you get a decent console.

The latest firmware is 5.5.4 and is still hackable.

Aren't most WiiU's built in with scheduled obsolescence d/t battery/screen issues with the tablet controller etc? So no matter what it's going to fail within a few years.
Most Wii U games you can use a pro controller.

Pretty much since the latest firmware is 5.5.4 that would mean all.
