Invest in an automatic. It holds better value down the line. Seiko Presage/ Sarb035 etc.

Collectible value - sure. Utilitarian, everyday value - not so much. If worn frequently, mechanical watches require regular (and costly) maintenance - cleaning, lubricating, calibrating etc. They are fragile, easy to damage, susceptible to magnetic fields and mechanical vibrations.

Their time accuracy sucks too, how much should I pay for a +-1s/day accurate mechanical automatic watch new in box?

When I compare them to my quality quartz and, especially, radio-controlled Casios, modern mechanicals don't have much value in my* book.

*Professional collectors will contradict me of course, but I've got too much trash here in this apartment already...

it says solar powered, so this has a battery that charges using solar? no temporary battery in it?

The solar power battery, in theory, would eventually need to replaced, but are usually capable of being functional for 10-20 years.
