Some Walmart stores have begun clearing out this HP Pavilion 13-an0031wm laptop for $359 (40% off from $599). It's a somewhat lower-spec, lower-price version of this recent frontpage deal.

Brickseek link: https://brickseek.com/walmart-inv...=468944420
Walmart page: https://www.walmart.com/ip/HP-Pav.../468944420
HP support page: https://support.hp.com/us-en/prod...l/24086215

Oddly, the HP page says 4GB RAM, but Walmart says 8GB, and there's a reviewer photo that shows 8GB on the box (attached).

Specs:
  • Windows 10 Home
  • 13.3" 1920x1080 IPS screen (no touch)
  • Intel Core i3-8145U 2.1 GHz dual-core
  • Intel UHD Graphics 620
  • 8GB DDR4-2400 SDRAM (onboard)
  • 128GB M.2 SSD
  • 802.11b/g/n/ac (2x2) Wi-Fi
  • Bluetooth 4.2
  • Backlit keyboard with navigation column (Home/PgUp/PgDn/End)
  • 2-cell, 37.69 Wh Li-ion polymer battery (nonremovable)
  • 2.88 lb
  • Ports:
    • 1 USB 3.1 Type-C Gen 2 (Data Transfer up to 5 Gb/s, Power Delivery, DisplayPort 1.2, HP Sleep and Charge)
    • 2 USB 3.1 Gen 1 (1 HP Sleep and Charge)
    • 1 HDMI 1.4
    • 1 headphone/microphone combo
    • 1 multi-format SD media card reader

Known potential issues:
  • Bad Wifi instability. Possibly fixed by recent driver updates.
  • Hinge may obstruct heat vent, esp. with lid closed. Hot air deflects up the screen and into your face.

Is this truly a good deal? It almost feels like this should be the regular price

Based on specs this seems to be around regular price you would find on a deal, only difference is this are 15", this is 13" which makes it a good deal + being able to charge via USBC is awesome.... too bad the specs make it about average at best .... under $300 woulc make it a great deal.

Agreed, it's solid for the price point but overall not a real slick deal.

That was my exact thought too. Even at this price, it's not appealing enough for me to buy.

The fan on this model is loud. I bought one earlier this year and returned it.

Who is getting tired of YMMV deals? (asking for a friend)
Not me. Isn't the "asking for a friend" thing dead yet?

This isn't that great of a deal. Dual Core processors don't cut it nowadays.

It wouldn't be on clearance if people were buying them up at full price. A year ago this might have looked like $600 but looking at recent competition that price looks comical. $399 would be a fair MSRP now for this with $359 being OK. I think we're all saying the same thing... so no hot deal here. Move along folks.
