Opinions please? These ELAC Uni-fi UF5 for $350 each or the JBL Studio 590's I often see advertised for $500 each? Better for music? Movies? Large room?

Do note that these are 4 Ohm speakers with a low sensitivity rating. You will need a robust receiver at bare minimum, but a dedicated amp with the juice to power these preferred.

Wharfedale Reva 3 are on sale at Parts Connexion, too (to throw in another contender).

If you're on a budget, I'd probably go with the JBL 590s or the Klipsch RP8000 (I think that's the model). If you need to go cheaper, consider the Infinity Reference towers that are always going on sale for $400.

These are inefficient and this line really doesn't sound good without sufficient amplification. All of the speakers I've mentioned are quality options.

Thanks for the replies. I considered the Reva 3's and the Reva4's and decided against. I'll be using a Denon AVR-X3500H to drive whatever I get, so mid-range receiver. I will wait for the JBL Studio 590's to go back on sale. With there front loaded tweeters and good sensitivity they seem really good for odd shaped large rooms (which is where they will be).
