I always get a bit sad seeing Oakley deals because their sunglasses are nowhere near the quality they used to be. I ordered 3 different pairs last month (Holbrook, Crossrange and Crankshaft) thinking I'd get some quality sunglasses and couldn't believe how crappy they felt.

My Oakley's from 10 years ago were far better quality than the stuff they are making today. Maybe it's the luxxotica buyout but these aren't even worth $50 to me anymore, much less the $100-200 msrp. The lenses all look nice but the frames feel as cheap as gas station sunglasses. I've noticed the same thing with new RayBans. Like I said, just kinda sad to see a solid brands degenerate into garbage.

Any one out there know if the Crankshaft color is closer to amazon pic or to the nordstrom pic? I bought them because my last "smoke" pair I really liked, but I think those were grey smoke, not brown smoke.

I believe the Oakley Chainlink Black Iridium Polarized w/ Black Ink is not polarized. The only review with pictures states it is falsely advertised as polarized. Also, once clicking on the link to Amazon, it states "Mens Chailink (their typo, not mine) OO9247 Non-Polarized Ractangular Eyeglasses".

The reviews on Amazon for the Oakley Men's Crankshaft Tungsten Iridium Polarized Sunglasses also state that the lenses are not polarized but I suppose they could always be returned if that turned out to be the case.

Otherwise, great prices. Nice find OP.

So I should just stay away and save myself $50? I'm not buying them just so everyone can see that I can afford a pair of Oakley's, I've had laser eye surgery and need a good pair of quality sunglasses per doctors orders.

Same thing with Arnette, sold out to Luxottica,, straight down hill.
Smith Optics used to have nice quality, made in Italy etc, sold out to Safilo.
Now everything is made in China and average quality at best.

I still have an old pair of Jury sunglasses that I love. Sports sunglasses with an aluminum frame. I had to go to a local sunglasses shop to have them make me new lenses a couple years ago, as Oakley doesn't carry even parts for then anymore.

I'm glad I'm not the only that has noticed! I've always bought Oakley's due the LEO discount and you're right, my old pair of flak jackets have been through hell and back, even ran over! I've bought a new pair recently and the quality is shit! They get dirty so fast and are already worn out...

You can get a quality pair of glasses for ~$20 on Amazon if you don't care about the brand name. Last ones I got are great, aluminum frame and everything.
