Good price for the specs if you have to get single-din. If your car has the space for a double-din it's always better to avoid the moving parts as these always have issues down the road.

Thing about these Fry's clearance head units is that it's difficult to determine ahead of time if you're getting the display unit.
Good news is you may be able to PM to BB since the advertisement doesn't specify the condition.

There have been some Kenwoods DDINs in this price range recently, don't see anything at the moment though.

Looks like on Frys website there are Kenwoods on clearance. Theres a double din that looks tempting and has CarPlay.

My problem is I got a Chinese one off of Amazon and have no idea how to upgrade the firmware. It looks like they may have even glued an SD card into a slot that probably has the firmware that that's using on it. This does not allow me to do anything current as Google maps and stuff have all outdated.

It's actually just fine. Even the install guy was surprised hardware wise. It's got plenty of features I only have a single din slot. The only thing that doesn't work for me is the microphone for some reason and hot spotting it from my phone and making it a hotspot from using my phone's hotspot can be kind of labor some. I guess the only other thing I can think of is sometimes when I'm connected if I'm playing music through Google and pumping maps in using the Wi-Fi, the songs can skip as if it's being overloaded with data. I assume an update of the firmware would fix a lot of this as it seems like it can handle plenty. The problem is the Chinese firmware that is installed doesn't have the ability to go in and just hit update. Like Bluetooth isn't even under the place that it is now. It's it's own little thing and I can't even see a list of devices. So it's got his corks but I'm trying to figure out how to force it into it newer firmware. I'm thinking of using Google translate on the settings menu somehow as the place where you normally would have update options and settings would be an English but is in Chinese.

I like both of these for around the same price, although they have a .8" smaller screen:

Pioneer AVH-1300NEX Multimedia DVD Receiver with 6.2" WVGA Display/Apple CarPlay/B... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B073BNF...iDb6JA9XKE

Pioneer Multimedia Double-Din In-Dash 6.2" WVGA Display DVD Receiver Apple CarPlay... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01M4LK...iDbY62HY5R

Have you emailed the seller to see if you can update it? That's too bad you can only do single din. I was going to offer you a different device on Amazon that looks good for only $50 or $60. Can't remember which

Yea. 99 Caravan. I'm almost positive the seller is just selling it and not supporting it. In fact, The one that's in there is the second one because the first one they sent was DOA.

Damn I wish I could find a din and a half unit. Love my car except for that stupidly sized radio space.
