Yes, you can get a rebate when you buy m1 from walmart.

True, it is not on the list of retailers.

But thousands of successful rebate claims have used walmart.

I got two $5 Walmart discount card by using two different emails, and printed them out. Went to self checkout and bought two 5-qt of 0W40 for $22.98 each and both $5 printed coupon was accepted on the same transaction. Make sure to scan the coupon at the final payment screen where it ask for payment method(walmart pay, credit card, etc.). Make sure to select "Walmart Gift Card" option *before* scanning the coupon. I didn't for the first one, just scanned the bar code and it actually charged me $.03 for the gift card. I then pressed Walmart Gift Card before scanning, then it properly took off $5 for each of my coupons. The $.03 remained on my charge, I didn't bother to ask for help to remove it.

Just call. Many rebates rejections are just mistakes and can be cleared quickly with a polite phone call.

At only 1500 miles a year, any point in using synthetic then?
Might still be cheaper than Reg oil after rebate. $11 a year for better oil us a no brainer.

I agree. 10k is my limit. I'm pretty regular between 7 & 8k. In my opinion, all synthetic is pretty similar. I run synthetic exclusively, whatever is on sale lol. Plus, maybe once every month or 2, I give my car a treat...a full tank of Recreational Gasoline (ethanol free) car loves it and mpg increases on highway by 6 mpg with cruise set on 82 mph. Treat your car to good fluids! Lol
Lol, call total bullshit on an extra 6mpg at 82mph on ethanol free gas... That's just laughable...

These rebates are a big joke. Stay away from them.
Bought a total of 8 five gallon jugs, used the Nascar $5 coupon on all of them and got all rebates within 5 weeks.. Net cost to me was about $7 for each 5 gallon jug after taxes.. Fantastic deal..

I have done plenty of Mobil 1 rebate and never had a problem, except this time around April, after I submitted the rebate online and waited 2 months, there was still no online record of my submission. I called their 800 number and talked to a rep, she said mine was denied because I submitted the wrong receipt, it has to be shipping confirmation, not order confirmation, not delivery confirmation and not even a purchase receipt is sufficient. What do you guys submit as a proof of purchase?
Exactly what happened to me, so I sent the Walmart invoice email that showed shipping confirmation, and I received my rebate in about 3 weeks.

How about a car that only gets driven 1500 miles (mostly local) per year? Is it ok to wait 3 years between oil changes (which will still be less than 5000 miles)?
I wouldn't wait 3 years... I change every year because I don't drive 5k miles a year on this car anymore otherwise every 5k miles. This is because my Kia requires a standard Kia oil filter to not void warranty which I don't think can handle more than 5k miles lol

Do you garage the car? Change it every year at the least is good advice as its not the oil/dirt that gets in but also the moisture that will buildup in an engine that sits around a lot that will affect the oil life.

I put synthetic oil and whatever filter I can get on a deal. Most of my cars get driven a decent mileage (5-7k) and so I change them as needed 6months or at least once a year. Some do get driven locally and if they only rack up 5k miles I still change them annually at the least.

Have had not engine issues for about 15 years that i've been doing this and have racked up 200k miles on a few before they were rusted/totaled etc.

not on regular ethanol, 10%, but if he runs E-85, then probably. mpg goes down HUGE on E-85
