Heads up: The Freedompop to Ting promo offer didn't say when their promo was ending, so I called support and found out that you can wait to do anything until August 27th, so if you want to wait and see how long you can still grab your promotional pricing/how long your phone number won't be deleted, there you go.

Hey there,

If you found this article, we're making two assumptions: you are a FreedomPop customer and you heard the news that FreedomPop is migrating all customers using the Sprint CDMA network to Ting Mobile. That's us! We're excited to have you.

We heard you were a techy bunch and it's really exciting to see you taking a look around our website. It's like picking a room when you move into a new house, right?

As it stands, we're aiming to migrate all FreedomPop customers to Ting in the middle of this month. In the meantime, if you have any questions please reach out to FreedomPop. It's a catch 22 - we would love to help you but your account still exists with FreedomPop and we cannot access it until after the migrations happens. Trust that we're just as excited to support you as you are to join our superior cellphone service.

Keep an eye out for an email from FreedomPop/Ting letting you know when everything is about to happen. We're working our magic behind the scenes to make the migration as seamless as possible. The process couldn't be simpler as we designed a really easy self-service portal and it should only take you 2-3 minutes to complete. You just need to have your FreedomPop email address, phone number or IMEI/MEID ready to get started. Should you decide we are not an option for you, we'll provide you with your porting information so you can take your phone number to a carrier of your choosing.

We hope we're not being too presumptuous when we say: welcome to the Ting Mobile family.

7 9 19 clicked thru https://ting.com/mobile/freedompop/verify but didnt recognize email/phone#
emailed help@ting.com
"Because the migration isn't complete, that's why you hit a snag. You're
not technically a Ting customer yet. You're still a FreedomPop customer.
The site isn't live and isn't accepting conversions yet.

When it's ready, we (Ting) will email you at your FreedomPop email
address. Until then, you'll need to reach out to FreedomPop tech support
if you're having issues."

Welcome, FreedomPop customers.
FreedomPop is quitting Sprint. Ting Mobile (that's us. Hi, pleased to meet you) is stepping in to help FreedomPop / Unreal Mobile customers during this transition.

As part of FreedomPop's move away from Sprint, your phone and number have already been moved to Ting Mobile. Otherwise, nothing has changed with your phone service.

On Ting Mobile, you can choose from a couple of exclusive offers: $20 for 20GB for unlimited talk, text and 20GB of LTE data or $6 for unlimited talk and text + $4 per GB of LTE data. $20 for 20GB also comes with the first month free, you only pay taxes and government / regulatory fees.

Your phone and your number are yours to do with as you please. That said, whether you plan to take us up on these offers or whether you want to move to another carrier, you must take action and that action starts here, on this page.

What you need to know:
Action is required
Your number is safe
Your phone is already on Ting Mobile
Ting Mobile is offering you $20 for 20GB or $6 + $4 per GB
Our unprecedented $20 for 20GB and $6+ $4 per GB offers are guaranteed through 2019. In 2020, you'll automatically be moved over to Ting's great pay for what you use rates.

Whether you want to use Ting Mobile or you want to move your number to a new carrier, you need to act. Click below to confirm your FreedomPop account and decide your next step.

All I want is accurate instructions on how to deal with this - the emailed instructions do not match what is happening on my phone.

Woke up this morning to see that same email received at 3 am Sunday, and to see that FP app (iphone7) no longer works - THe app's menu bar has changed - menu bar doesn't show phone dialer or voicemail so how can I update profile using ##873283##?
Callers are sent directly to voicemail, which I can't access because the FP app doesn't have Voicemail on the menu bar.
Should I use the FP app APN Configuration feature and install that? Is that a profile update or will that screw things up even worse?
I tried to call using native dialer & get Sprint message about connecting me to operator to make calls using a credit card?!
If I try to Text in FP the app sends me to iOS Messages but only some messages go through but only if I'm on Wifi and the person receiving the texts sees a strange phone number not my FP number.
Have been contacting Twitter FP Support all day, after 10 hours they asked for my email, haven't heard anything yet.

Can anyone tell me how to complete this "migration" so the phone service & plan I pay for will work?

Hello

I received only 1 email today as shown below:

Dear xxxx,
Your device is in the process of being migrated to a fully native experience with the same plan you have today. You will be able to use the native messaging app for text messages with the same number for better experience.
Once the migration is completed, you may lose cellular connections temporarily. If so, please make sure you perform profile update by dialing this number based on your device:

- For iOS device (iPhone): ##873283##
- For Google phones (Nexus/Pixel): ##72786##
– FreedomPop Support

What does that mean exactly? Is my free plan going to stop or what exactly? I'm on Premium 500 plan (LTE Sim) which includes 200 free min, 500 free text and 500 mb free data and free international 100 min call with no monthly bill. Is this going to stay or cancel??

Can freedompop agent or someone explain to me exactly?

I did not know about this news until now. In the last few days, I have struggled to activate two phones with Freedompop via BYOD. At this time, I still not get my phones activated with Freedompop. Will I get my activation fee for both phones refunded?

Please helps.

Is FreedomPop pocketing our Topup funds, or will those roll over to Ting?

I still have received nothing from Ting.

So I switched to Unreal about 8 months ago. It initially cost $10 monthly, then they did a bit of a snake oily move and upped the fee by $3 claiming they needed to add costly additional security to prevent fraud.

With Unreal, even at $13 monthly, the cost was well worth it, since Unreal was offering 1GB data monthly that can be rolled over, unlimited talk/text, and unlimited 2G data if you happen to blow through your allotment of 3G data.

Now that Unreal Mobil/Freedompop has gone tits up, I guess my next best offer is to take up Ting at $10 monthly for 1GB data ($4 each additional GB) and unlimited talk/text.

Is this a decent deal compared to other offerings? I seriously doubt there's anything comparable to Tings offering.

If worse comes to worse, I'm gonna just ditch my FiOS account and switch to Comcast, and basically have area wide WiFi with their service, and use that in combination with my Google Voice number.

EDIT: When I checked out Tings offering for Freedompop customers, it stated "PRICE GUARANTEED UNTIL 2020". Which will mean next year, you'll most likely be raised to their normal rates, and from what I see, their cheapest service of 100 minutest talk, 100 texts, and 500mb data is $22 monthly.

EDIT 2: So lookign around, I've seen people mention Tello as an alternative to what was Unreal Mobil, and they have plans starting at $10 monthly 1GB data (unlimited 2G data), and unlimited talk/text. Plus they operate off the Sprint network.
