Has anyone figured out how to add additional shelves? Between my wife and I, we have a ton of shoes in our garage and every other shoe rack we have tried has been too flimsy or too expensive...
Could probably cut some plywood and screw them in through the upright frame pieces, but if anyone knows of something more "plug and play" I would love to hear it.

Has anyone used these as kitchen racks? I'm interested in making more room in my kitchen by having all the appliances stack on this bad boy

I regret buying this because the particle board is terrible and easily breaks. I bought one from Costco which is better all around especially the shelving. I mean it works for what it is to stay in my garage forever

It was not mentioned at $21 - it was noted that "The cost is $21 more at $57" and he laid out why he thought it was still a better buy.

READ BEFORE BUYING: I have 5 of these and LOVE them. There are two versions out there: Black and grey. I have both and the black model is far superior to grey. The grey has the same specs, but is not as well made so I had to contact customer service to correct the issue. After speaking with them, I was informed that the black models are discontinued so grab them while you can. The grey models are the "new and improved," however, not as well made.

The black models I have definitely hold the published weight. I am able to store heavy bags of dog food, 10 24-packs of soda, tons of laundry detergent, etc (my wife is a couponer and we basically have our own apocalypse supply of cleaners/shampoo/and other crap for the next 6 yrs and these shelves are perfect for it.) The shelf board is compressed wood which has begun to sag over the past 5 yrs, and can easily be replaced by any plywood of your choice should you want to upgrade it. Hope this helps and grab the black models before they're gone!
everyone has said also in previous posts. where black ones are much better.

can you clarity which brand? edsal or muscle rack?

Just goto HD buy a 3/4 plywood ask them to cut them into 4 even pieces. 1sheet will give you 4 shelves. I cut mine at home with a battery powered circular saw, because the workers down here don't work.

If you have a Sam's club membership and don't need the shelving right away I'd hold off and buy the members mark brand shelves instead when they go on sale around black Friday. The shelving is plastic versus the plywood. I've purchased both and the plywood started chipping a part and breaking within the first year and a half. The oldest members mark shelves I've had for about 4 years now and they've held up great.

Also as one of the other commenters said they keep changing these shelves making the metal thinner thereby making them much more flimsy. I'd advise you check to be sure that what the store has in stock aren't the newer shelves because the new ones are garbage.

I'd recommend the muscle rack shelf that is 24" deep and 48" wide instead of the one in the title. The cost is $21 more at $57 (about 60% more), but it gives you 80% more storage space on the shelves, the wider and deeper base is more stable, and when you eventually replace the particle board (it will eventually be necessary) you'll get four 2'x4' pieces per 4'x8' sheet of plywood (3 simple width-wise rip cuts) with no wastage instead of cutting 18"x3' pieces needing several times more cuts, and almost 3sqft of wastage left over. you can find the larger shelf in the same link, select the larger size just below the product pictures.
While your logic is on point, I will be replacing a shelf of this exact size in the garage and cant fit anything bigger in that spot since it's directly next to one of the bay doors and meets the corner wall. Repped anyway for the useful input.
