Depends. Assuming a relatively clean house and a central heat/air, your best bet is to research better filters for that. The above purifier is HEPA filter which is about the best u can get. there are exceptions of course.

If I cook curry, will this help with the lingering smell? Serious question.

Fakespot "F". No thank you.
$50/year for just the filters. Even for free I wouldn't buy it.

it works better if you stick it into the intake duct.

Winix C535 True HEPA Air Cleaner with PlasmaWave Technology https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01N43P6XN/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_No8jDbCZFF1Q1
Bought that from Costco for $100. It works really well in my opinion. I wouldn't advise putting on a thick AC filter because that is like you breathing through a face mask. You'll make the AC work harder to pull in air.

Filters require seals to prevent certain particles from getting by. A filter is only as good as it's seal. Putting a proper one in your intake is what is recommended.

$55 seems like a fair price. Competition is plentiful under $100. I would shop around before purchasing.

I went with the Germ Guardian AC4825 22" but it was 50% more expensive than this.

I'm weary of any product that only shows up in sales and in no legit reviews. This has 1 video on youtube by it's model #.

I follow a Vacuum Wars youtube channel and they tested Eureka vacuums a lot and they typically score well for a cheap vacuum. I suspect the product to work.
