Skip vinyl. Even if you buy into the hype, with any speakers, amplifiers, and listening environment real people have, you will not get any improvement, especially if you use USB or Bluetooth.
Who said the person is using USB or Bluetooth. There are a lot of good USB DACs out there. Please stop because you don't know what you are talking about.

I think you mean "turn me on dead man" which is a backwards play effect . "I buried Paul" should be audible on any turntable.
Ah, I haven't thought about all that in decades, so my memory's rusty. 28IF...

It's mostly just for the fun of letting people physically dig through your old music. Also it opens you up to buying used records for a couple bucks at yardsales and wherever. If you have big bucks for a great system then that's great. But if you just want to listen to music with friends this is a great too.

There's something fun about flipping through your curated collection with a friend or two and playing an album. Sure, I love Spotify too. I never listen to albums expecting better sound quality, just a warmer sound quality that my old arse was accustomed to. My spotify songs never have any pops or hisses.

Is this a good turntable? I'm new to vinyls so... what features would be better?
First rule of record collecting... Never say 'vinyls'.

Any advice on an OK one with built in speakers that won't break the bank?
As mentioned those tend to be real junk. I got my mom one for her birthday since she'll use it about 2x per year... I hate that thing haha. Honestly if you're trying to be super cheap the (sale) LP60 and a cheapo pair of Walmart computer speakers will be far superior to any built in speaker models.

Is this worth the price over the lp60 when it's on sale? Is there that much of a noticeable difference for a casual listener?

Is there no tracking light? That seems kind of important for a belt drive.

This (when properly setup) will be much less damaging to your records than the LP60. Every piece of this is of better quality and design than the LP60, all those differences add up.

A95e cartridge is a great mid-level starter cartridge. Depends on the quality of the tone arm as well as the weight of the platter. Can't beat it for a starter turntable imo.

Can you scratch with this? Want something portable that I can take to the mall and use to impress my fellow teenagers.
Mall? Teenagers? Newsflash Roy Moore: You're not allowed at the mall anymore.

How about all the records you can't buy or stream or download? There are tens of thousands of records that are not available in any other format.

That's a damn nice little turntable for that price! Actually it's a sweet deal even before the discount. Of course it's a manual turntable, but most of them are these days. And it's a pretty basic cartridge, but that's easy enough to fix when you want.

If I needed another turntable right now..... it's still tempting!

I'm just glad Teac is still around, wasn't sure since the floppy disc died I haven't seen them around, but they had the best floppy drives...

People hate the ATLP60 for a plethora of reasons from its cheap plastic construction, non changeable cartridges, uninspired design, lack of a counterweight.... the LP60 is a toy, the Teac is a piece of audio equipment.

If you want to get the best sound out of your records the Teac is the hands down winner.
