Apple MacBook Air 13.3" Laptop Intel Core i5 8GB RAM, 256GB SSD
The 13.3" MacBook Air Laptop Computer from Apple is an ultraportable notebook computer with a thin and lightweight design. Apple's engineers have leveraged the lessons they learned in designing the miniaturized iPad and applied them to the design of this 2.96-pound computer.
To say that the Air is svelte is all at once stating the obvious and understating the truth. The system is defined by its unibody aluminum enclosure. At its thickest point the computer is only 0.68" -- it tapers down to 0.11" at its thinnest.
Specifications:
• 1.6 GHz Intel Core i5
• 8GB of 1600 MHz LPDDR3 RAM
• 256GB PCIe-Based Flash Storage
• Integrated Intel HD Graphics 6000
• 13.3" LED-Backlit Glossy Display
• 1440 x 900 Native Resolution
• 802.11ac Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0
• USB 3.0, Thunderbolt 2
• 720p FaceTime HD Camera, SDXC Card Slot
• Mac OS X El Capitan or macOS Sierra
What's in the box?
✔️Apple MacBook Air 13.3 Notebook MMGG2LL/A
✔️AC power adapter

Item condition: Refurbished

this is from itechdeals- many SD'ers have thrown out junk from them, they make returning near impossible, and seem to have figured out a way to negate ppal's protection.
Refurbished at itechdeals means, pulled out of a garbage can. It may be dirty, it may be cracked, it may be missing keys, who knows.

Both my MacBook Air 13" and my wife's MacBook Air 10" are from 2011 are still our primary laptops and work like a boss.

We crushed the SlickDeals game on those!

Before that we would go through laptops every 2-3 years or so. Hella annoying.

My pick would be windows 10.
Older Macbook Air's have some kind of issues. Do your own Research.
Is not asking others not doing research?! Maybe not the research you want him to do, data none-the-less.

Anyone knows how good are the refurbs from this website?
I would say no. Only because of refurb. With a refurb you are 100% relying on the company doing the refurb. So it doesn't matter if this is a good laptop from Apple or a good deal overall. I only buy refurbs directly from Apple or someplace like Amazon which will always take the customers side of a dispute in my experience. Or if you have a credit card that has 100% satisfaction guarantee like AMEX

Yes not going for this and read too many complaints of this company and since they don't take returns, it is a no no for me.

Should be able to get 3 years out of Mac is updated and then it will be unsupported. Then you will have to hack it to get the latest.

It will be much longer. Upcoming Catalina supports 2012 air and after.

it's itechdeals. condition will be worse than you could ever imagine.
Not 100% sure it was this site, but it was a site that looked a lot like this one. I purchased a MacBook Air Refurb and when I got it, it literally looked like it went through a WAR. It was scratched to hell on every surface, although everything did work.

They did at least have the decency to allow me to return it, although it was a slow process. I would STAY AWAY from this deal unless you are okay with a laptop that looks like someone dragged it across a parking lot.

This is a fairly good deal. If you are buying this for a non-technical person to do word processing and web surfing, this is the better choice in my opinion.

It's very portable, and integrates well with the Apple ecosystem if they already have an iPhone.

I recommend this for all non-technical people and older folks because the user experience is just more smooth. Everything just works

The only thing that could potentially happen is the battery dies, then it's like a $60 battery replacement on Amazon.
So why not just get i$250 Pad and,$50 keyboard case to do word processing and web surfing? I bet 6th gen iPad can do more.
