Did a little analysis and determined that the Megaboom 3 was probably worth the $30 upgrade for better range and deeper bass. Went in on it! thanks!

Remix is just a Costco-branded Megaboom 2. The 1 and 2 are IPX7 rated, while the 3 is IP67 (better dust- and waterjet- proofing). The 3 also sounds better and stays connected to Bluetooth from farther away, and it supports the more convenient (optional, sold separately) Charging Dock instead of fiddling with a USB cable to charge every time.

I got the two $80 version from Best Buy. Absolutely kills other bluetooth speakers in their price range. I have two of them and will use them at parties at different parts of the house. There are some slight issues with connectivity but I am pretty sure it's my phone.

These fill small rooms, hard. Wink

been looking to replace my old bt speakers, how loud are these? is the MEGA considerably louder than just the regular boom?

Edit: looks like they're the same, volume-wise: https://www.imore.com/ultimate-ea...megaboom-3

mega has larger battery and bigger drivers (for more bass) but otherwise they look the same.

ended up getting the original megaboom, I need the 3.5 aux. That model was $90, which seems to be about the best price for brand new unit with warranty.

thanks op!

Anyone know what the difference between the mega boom, mega boom remix that I've seen at Costco and the mega boom 3? I have the mega boom from a year or two ago the mega boom remix appears to be the same shell except for the claim that it floats was the only difference I saw. When the mega boom first came out they were $300 each! Did the quality go down or just scaled?

Not sure. Just picked up the remix last weekend. Going to get one of these too and see which is better

I thought these were a good deal when I bought two at the Australian duty free for $250 when they first came up. I got a lot of good use out of them even though they can be hard to sync sometimes. Report back your findings! I want to sell my old ones and upgrade!
