Coupon doesn't populate for me neither. I'm logged into mobile but not a prime member. Prime only?

This is a DRAM-less PCIe NVMe Gen3x4 drive, but it supports the NVMe v1.3 protocol and uses Host Memory Buffer (HMB) to compensate for that.

Allow me to translate: they use memory you already have (and could be using for other things) to make this thing work right. So while you might think it's a great bargain, you need to cost in the value of the RAM it hijacks.

Compared to the SX8200 (PRO/non-PRO alike), top burst speeds are lower particularly for write speeds. Read speeds are reasonably fast.

Yes, it uses some of your RAM instead of having DRAM. Know that it is a tiny amount, just 64MB. But HMB is slower and a dumber design than having dedicated DRAM--who needs that additional bus traffic?

Personally, I'd pass. I really don't see the point of this design.

Vantec M.2 Nvme SSD to USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type C Enclosure with C to C Cable, Space Gray Color, ID5 (NST-205C3-SG)

Newegg and Amazon cary it. $40 but frequently on sale for $20.

USB c gen 2 as required to get close to the speeds these drives are capable of. And it's build quality as a heatsink and fast reliable controller are a perfect match.

It's fun turning these m2 drives into portable storage - but be weary of cheap enclosures. Your only as fast and reliable as your controller and the connection you use (and at these speeds even the USB c gen 2 cable you use matters)

Cheers
