BH is legit. They sell some pretty high end photography stuff. Been a loyal customer of them. No issues ever. (8 purchases)

Also... this is a pretty sick deal.... 1TB SsD, 2060 GpU, 144hz screen. No tax for certain states. Wow

Does this have TB3?

Keep looking for the 17 to go on sale again. But the 15" is $1569 on Lenovo's own site with matching specs.

https://www.lenovo.com/us/en/lapt...=LEN610548

Also can confirm B&H is a legit retailer as well.

With my Perksatwork on Lenovo site, i was able to build a Y545 with I7, 1660ti 144hz 8g ram and 128 ssd for 996, after tax 1043. By the time i add Ram and a 1TB ssd from newegg the unit would be about 1209$ so 90 dollars to upgrade to an RTX 2060 (no tax for TX) and the laziness of out the box ready, And no wondering how long my order will ship (said 3 weeks) I canceled my Y545 and got this deal.

No, only the Y740's have TB3. But lets be honest, TB3 is kind of old tech now. Unless you are using for the 1 power cable, an external GPU is just silly. Was amazing a few years ago.

Nothing replaced it. TB3 is still the fastest and best connection possible for a computer. TB3 isn't just for connecting an external GPU. it also allows you to plug in 1 cable to your laptop and instantly have it connected to multiple simultaneous desktop monitors, keyboard, mouse, speakers, ethernet and power. All from 1 cable.

TB3 has yet to even become mainstream much less be "old tech". In fact TB3 is the basis for USB4 which will hopefully be rolling out next year.

Excellent price for the specs and probably the least visually offensive chassis at this price point.

The only real downside is the battery life, I believe it's only in the 50-60 Watt hr range, and with these specs (even w/optimus), you're probably looking at 2.5-3.5 hrs max.

At this price point, it's competing with the likes of the the Acer Helios 300, Dell G5, etc.. IMO Lenovo's have the classiest chassis designs.
Thunderbolt is not as relevant here IMO since it has a RTX 2060 (non Max Q), esp/ considering you also have a mini-DP to run external monitors at ove 60hz.

I just got an MSI GS65, but for the money this is a much much better deal. If only the battery was a lot bigger for my use.

How many people are using it for that, It did not catch on. It is great, i agree, but on a gamer laptop, you know people are not using TB3 for productivity.

Is the 2060 worth the premium over the 1660TI? I don't really care about going above 60fps since I mostly play single player games. Wasn't sure if the extra FPS wold be wasted and I'd be just as good with some 1660TI for around $1k instead.

1660ti will serve you well, as they are both based on the turing architecture they go neck and neck in many categories. Plenty of good youtube reviews on this. If you have no interest in Ray Tracing, save the few bucks and go 1660ti.

I ordered the Acer Helios 300 the other day for same price, but this has way better specs and freebies.
