Honest question, my mom used to go through these $99 vacuums once every two years until she bought a Dyson. It got $500 at the time but that was in 2009/2010. Have these budget vacuums improved or are they designed for people who vacuum less frequently?

This is a carpet cleaner, not a vacuum. I've had something similar in the same price range. Worked ok I guess. Kinda leaky, and was obviously not designed to be an item that had any real durability. I haven't seen this specific item, but I can guess it's made with the cheapest plastic, seals, and hoses possible.

The posted deal is a carpet cleaner. It uses water and soap to clean the carpet. It's not a vacuum.

Ive had the older model I bought from Walmart with the dirty tank on the bottom, used it for more than 7 years and its still fine.

These are a must for anyone that has carpet in their house, but I only use it every few months. The person in the photos probably does it more often because she's wearing shoes in the house, I'd never do that, that's crazy.

Probably your mom takes care better on Dyson when she pays 5 times more 😅

PS: Hoover is one of the first ones who makes the vacuum cleaners. in England etc they still call Hoover instead vacuum cleaners 🙃
