Not really imo.

Spend the extra 10$ and get the easy-store.

You're guaranteed to get a decent drive with a good warranty. These seagate externals drives are usually SMR. Thats fine for reads but sustained writes and writing second data to blocks can be really slow. Some are pros, but its a dice roll.

With the 8 and 10TB easy-stores you get white labeled WD reds.

Have had 2 WD fail in the last year an 8tb and a 4tb both under 2yrs old and luckily had them backed up by 2 seagate drives 8tb and 4tb and I've never had a seagate drive fail but this made my 4th wd drive failure the other two were 500gb 2.5in black drives and have 2 2tb seagate 2.5 drives in a laptop with with over 35k hrs on them still running strong

You didn't mention what model of your last failed WD drives. Without this information, you are comparing apples and oranges. On a side note, in my experience, I've never had a single drive failed on me. Does it mean Seagate and WD are all good drives? Of course not.

The trick is when buy Seagate hard drive, avoid the SMR type. Only buy the PRO moniker. When buy WD hard drive, avoid Green and Blue. Only Red. Be selective when shopping for hard drives.

P.S. I always have a quality Power Supply in my computer.

Comparing apples and oranges makes no sense here. and btw both wd drives were reds along with the 2 blacks that failed.

I guess you're unfortunate with WD. On the other hand, I never have a single drive failed on me. That doesn't mean I choose whatever drive that is on sale. I only buy certain drives from Seagate and WD. Just to be safe.

P.S. To be totally honest, I had a DOA from eBay purchase. The drive was a WD Black 320GB in 2.5" format. I send the dead drive to WD and got back a refurb. It's working perfectly. I'm happy with it. but I was out of pocket for the Priority Mail shipping. In the future I won't buy WD Black. Not because I had this bad experience, but because if I need speed, I'll go with SSD. I buy hard drives only for the storage space.

Great find! I wonder why the One All Digital doesn't come with this for $250
