I can't speak for the 1850, but I have the 1280, and I love them. Honestly debating the 1850 at this price just to have another set around the house.

Great set of speakers overall for computer or small room/office use.

May need something else more substantial for larger rooms/media centers.

That was my question as well. I've had the Z5500 set up for like 10 years.

Use a set of Edifiers mostly for music and have been extremely happy with the quality and sound for the price. They fill up our basement with sound just fine and would have no trouble recommending these for large spaces.

I got the Edifier R1700BT for $114 during a lightning deal and love them ...

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product...UTF8&psc=1

tempted to get these too, but the controls are on the back Frown

I know this has a remote, but would be nice to have the controls on the side like the 1700's

Having the controls on the back is just a bad design if you ask me ...

Hopefully the R1700BT will be back on sale for prime days ...

I have the Edifier S330D Multimedia 2.1. I really like them, but I'm wondering which would be better for my application (computer speakers/casual gamer/heavy music listener).
