I'm certain the quality of these has changed over the past 20 years. There are so many different varieties with different sized motors, etc. Not everything is built to last anymore.

I would stay away from these. I had a red one and it went bad within the first year and replaced by warranty. The second one just went bad too and had to throw it away because the repair cost was hefty. I suggest purchasing extended warranty.

That's unusual to be honest. We received one as a wedding gift nearly 20 years ago and it still rocks out like it's new...just like my wife!

I've read that some models have plastic gears and should be avoided. Is that true and is this the model?

If your amount paid is something like 199.99 prior to tax, does that trigger $40 in Kohl's Cash, or do I need a filler?

Maybe re-check the coupon codes you are using or try a different browser?
I'm still getting the $133 price after the 2 promo codes

Only the 450 to 575 watts bowl lift models have all metal gears. This one is a head tilt model with 275 watts, so what KA calls nylatron gear (nylon + Kevlar fiber).

If you are an occasional baker whipping up some home made treats for the family, this model is just fine and a great deal. If you plan to bake more frequently or going to use it to make bread I would recommend you upgrade.
