Oliveoil.com [oliveoil.com] is offering a coupon for 40% off several Urbani Truffles products.

These are very highly rated at amazon (truffle oil [amazon.com] and truffle salt [amazon.com]) for much higher prices

At checkout, enter coupon code TRUFFLESALE for extra 40% off. Free shipping on $49+ orders or otherwise it's $7.I personally have not tried these, but reading over bunch of amazon reviews, which seem to be very favorable (and people usually very picky about truffle oils, and salts). It's also certified organic and made in Italy.

This is NOT a cooking oil, but finishing oil, on pasta or risotto, pizza, or many other dishes
If you purchase something through a post on our site, Slickdeals may get a small share of the sale.

Urbani is one of the biggest houses for truffles from Piedmont, Italy. The fine-dining restaurant I work for orders their white truffles from Urbani. Keep in mind this is truffle-infused olive oil, not 100% truffle oil, as that'd be insane.

Read the reviews on the truffle salts on Amazon, appears to have that overpowering truffle scent and not a lot of flavor

for those who are concerned about review quality, like myself, I ran the oil through Fakespot. comes back with an A rating. will buy a small bottle just to give it a try.

Cool deal, bought a few things to try out. I'm fortunate to be close to an artisanal oil and vinegar shop that blows anything I've tried online out of the water, but always up for a taste adventure.

Anyone know which would be better in small quantity on popcorn, white or black truffle oil? When I ran out, I forgot which kind I had..

white cost way more due to stronger flavor. but, i dont know how it applies to oil.

White is more rare and difficult to hunt, so supply/demand economics apply.

6% cash back available. Not sure it is worth it with the $6.99 shipping, and I don't think I want to order $50 without knowing the quality.

So it's the synthetic ingredient that is merely the SMELL of truffle? Lmao, of course. I knew it, especially at this price, even at $20 you wouldn't get anything remotely "real"

nothing about what he said implies that it's synthetic. They could use trimmings from their white truffles (if they clean them up for shipping), or samples that they don't think are fit to sell otherwise but taste/smell fine. They probably process them to extract more of the essential flavor compounds/VOCs and steep them in oil.

I'd be more concerned about them using extra virgin olive oil for the base. EVOO usually has a strong flavor profile by itself; I wouldn't want anything getting in the way of my truffle flavor. something like a lite or refined olive oil would be better I think.

edit: after looking at the fine print on the ingredient list, it's a bit less clear. they qualify the oil and the truffle components as "from organic agriculture" but not the "White Truffle Extract" ingredient. so I'd be curious as to where that comes from and why it's not from organic agriculture.

There are no truffles or mushrooms in truffle oil, but it gives a similar taste at a low cost.

FYI there is no such thing as "truffles oil" they have none. All market labels truffle oils are either olive oil or other kinds infused with real truffles for flavor, or a synthetic flavoring. I would recommend to just get a truffle salt.. a good one. Look for one that use real truffle pieces inside. Flavor is much better
