Word of warning that this motherbard might lack the proper BIOS (firmware) version to support the new Ryzen processors out of the box. It is impossible update to the proper BIOS without a 1000 or 2000 Ryzen CPU installed as the system will not boot with the 3000 series CPU.

If you need to update the BIOS:

Short Term Processor Loan Boot Kit
AMD will offer affected and qualified users (as described below) an AMD Athlon 200GE Processor, including thermal solution, for short-term use ("boot kit") to perform the BIOS update on their motherboard.
This short-term processor loan or boot kit is offered through AMD warranty services and is available only for qualified users that:
Have made a valid purchase of a 3rd Gen Ryzen™ Desktop Processor and;
Are unable to boot that processor because the user's current X470/B450 BIOS must be upgraded first.
This service is free of charge with the following condition:
Once you have submitted your claim for a processor loan boot kit, AMD will require pictures of your 3rd Gen Ryzen™ Desktop Processor and AMD Socket AM4 400 Series motherboard, which clearly shows the model numbers and unique serial numbers as well as a copy of the purchase invoice(s) to authorize the request. Additionally, a summary or copy of communication with the motherboard manufacturer is requested to indicate why support from the Original Design Manufacturer (ODM) is not suitable.
Once the RMA request is approved, the AMD Athlon 200GE processor will be sent with pre-paid return shipping. The processor is provided as a temporary loan to you for the sole purpose of updating the BIOS and must be returned within 10 business days of receipt. It is not necessary to return the provided thermal solution.
To obtain the boot kit, please carefully follow these instructions:
Go to the AMD online warranty claims page: https://www.amd.com/en/support/kb...n/rma-form
Fill in your full contact and product details (3rd Gen Ryzen Processor OPN number and serial number)
In the Problem Description field enter "Boot kit Required" (without quotes)
NOTE: The product must be a valid AMD processor with authentic OPN and serial number.
Once the claim is received and approved, confirmation details and boot kit instructions will be provided in a follow up email.

Stupid question.
Does this have more than 16Mb for downloading BIOS? Or is the 32Mb NAND exclusive to x570 boards?

You will need to update the BIOS first which requires an older ryzen cpu. Once the BIOS is updated this eill work with the newer chipset.

Yes, it is on the supported list, check the official link below for a full list of AMD support.
Note that you may require to update the Bios in order to support the 3rd gen of Ryzen CPU.

Just bought a x370 for $62...mainly a media pc that I'm throwing a 2400g in. Wanted wifi because of where the machine will sit, but would this have been a better deal then add a $15 wifi stick?

*edit: it will work with a bios update but it would be an odd pairing.* IMO, I would look for a board with better vrm cooling and power phases. Also, an x570 or b550 (or whatever it will be when it is released) has the benefit of more lanes and pcie 4.0 (which will give you faster disk speed & theoretically better video card performance when developers optimize for it)
Hardware unboxed did a test using a b350 ASRock mb with the 3900x and the end result was you can definitely use the board as long as you don't plan to overclock, so if a b350 can handle a 3900x then this b450 should be fine with a 3700x.

Good point, as the 3700x is only rated at 65w tdp. However, testing on this specific motherboard with this limited power delivery and cooling was NOT tested.
edit: from personal experience (I had a 1700 on a b350 and I upgraded to an x470), the memory speeds might suffer with an older mobo as well as the clock speed of the cpu

I'm not sure why I got a thumbs down on my post. If one has to ask if it will work, then it follows that one isn't the most informed about what the latest chipset will be bringing feature-wise.
I didn't thumbs down you, but based on reviews I've looked at, the x570 line seems less than desirable for me personally because of the proprietary fans bolted onto the boards for cooling, which has in the past been one of the first thing to break on boards with built in fans and the hardest thing to get replaced. Also, a lot of x470 boards already have the transport lines to support PCIe 4.0 and are capable of getting 90% of the way there without having to upgrade. I think the b450/x470 boards are kind of the sweet spot for the 3000 series of CPUs from a price/performance standpoint, at least until possibily x670.

Also, I'm not expert, just basing everything on reviews I've watched/read.
