Wyze Cam 1080p HD Indoor Wireless Smart Home Camera with Night Vision, 2-Way Audio, Person Detection, Works with Alexa & the Google Assistant (Pack of 2) [amazon.com]

Seller is Amazon. Dropped $4.

Purshased last week from amazon for $50.71 and asked amazon for credit on difference and they offered me $5 promotional credit on next order.

Also ordered these Sandisk high endurance cards to go with them but sold old and now sold by 3rd party so wont post link

This model is w/o PAN. I have both with and without.

Unless you want very specific constant view like I have one being used just for monitoring garage open/close, I would strongly recommend skip this and pay a bit more to get one with PAN that rotates 360 for a full view and very good.

This one not bad but too limiting once you have tried the ones with PAN. I have a few PAN for different areas and I can anytime remotely have them quickly see any part of the room not just fixated on one like this one.

The PAN ones are usually 37.xx amazon or ~35 ebay (as of now) and fluctuate a bit on and off...every penny worth the extra for PAN ones....

How? Coupon code?
Right below the price there is a coupon note that says clip for extra savings. Possibly related to having used the app scanner recently? I'm not sure.

Just for what it's worth: I purchased a 2-pack during the previous deal last week. Microphones on both did not work. I have existing Wyze cams (that I've purchased via Amazon as well) and know how to use them and what the audio should sound like --- the audio on these was barely audible, even when talking into them at point blank range.

I returned them to Amazon and ordered another 2-pack replacement, but the replacements are also exhibiting the same problematic microphones. I've reached out to Wyze support and done all their troubleshooting -- toggling audio, factory resets, flashing firmwares, etc -- and can't get them to work. Maybe Amazon has a bad batch? I'm hoping Wyze offers to replace them directly, so I can bypass another faulty replacement from Amazon.

(To be clear: I'm very happy with my existing (working) Wyze cams. This isn't a knock on their product.)

Perfect for storage sheds and garage doors. It could be argued it's workable as a "front door cam" given it has two way talking and trigger's an alert on motion detected. There is tasmota software available for this camera which eliminates alot of the concerns with this camera and allows you to run it "local" but I believe you lose all the cloud features and storage.

Can you ask google assistant to show these on a hub or chrome cast?
Hub support came about a month ago, can't say I've viewed it since testing each camera. Not sure about Chromecast.

I'm a bit hesitant to grab these as I do not want to sub to another cloud service. I'm guessing if you need the footage you have to take these down then check the sd card for the needed footage..am I correct? If they are on my network can I just pull the footage off the camera from my PC. I'm sure a thief can just unplug the cord and card...am I correct?

Yes for Hub. They play fine on both the Lenovo and Nest Hubs. My only gripe is that it takes about 5 seconds to connect (for me).

Haven't tried with Chromecast.

They offer 2 weeks of cloud service free. You can review both cloud events and events on the camera through the app. App is really nice. I use Ring outdoor and Wyze inside (have also trialed Wyze outdoors but didn't meet my needs).

Got the 20% coupon code. Too good to pass up. Any idea if I can mount this outside? I have an awning but live in NYC so it would be exposed to rain, snow, and warm weather. $20 each.. can't go wrong.

You wouldn't use the FREE 14 day rolling cloud storage assuming you were using the built in firmware?

There are enclosures on amazon for around $8 each that make them "outdoor cam's" and you'll probably want to buy the 16ft or 26ft microusb cables so you can easily power them(they only come with a 5ft cord).

To simplify things these are the ones I purchased...they were the cheapest at the time for my purposes but easy to compare them to others.

First result on duckduckgo for "wyze v1 vs v2". I imagine google would have done just as well.
