Depends, they're for different purposes. The a7r3 has almost twice as many megapickles so you'll be able to crop in more or print larger... But 24 negativeprickles is usually more than plenty, and the a9 has better autohocusfocus and extra feautures that sports shooters and photojournalist want such as no blackout viewfinder while shooting.

By several degrees, yes. Likely overkill for nonprofessionals

Should i upgrade to an A9 from my A6000? Primarily using it for social media pictures..

All jokes aside ended up picking up the 55-210mm lens. I can get used for 100 locally but then thatll more than likely mean no warranty. Tnx op.

For most people the A7r3 is a better value camera. If you need the speed, then go for the A9.

Looks like the $148 price is across the board. Samys on Ebay has it for the same price.

Sony E-mount 55-210mm [ebay.com]

Its good that Sony include the lens hood.

Thanks. I've had an older NEX camera for years and never pulled the trigger on getting this lens so I could have more range. I was just considering a good condition used on on eBay for ~$130 the other day. Gonna go ahead and get this finally.

Depends, if used for video then no since it doesn't have any picture profiles. Everything else yes

They are different cameras for different purposes. For general photography like weddings and portraits, the A7RIII is better because of the higher resolution. The A9 shoots faster, so it's better at shooting fast moving subjects like sports and wildlife.

Unless you're doing a lot of action photography, you don't need the A9. I have two A9's and do professional sports photography, as well as wildlife where it's best suited. Better off with an A7III which is more well rounded due to video profiles, or the A7RIII which has the big megapixel count.

With the A9 you're paying for the best and fastest autofocus system available, with continuous autofocus at 20 frames per second (with compatible lenses) and tracking that has no equal.

No, zooms, especially extreme zooms are very bad for video because any shake or just will be exponentially worse. If you zoom past 75mm you'll have to use a tripod. All I do is video with this platform.
