Found while digging around woot. Was waiting for prime day sales on the paperwhite but other than the waterproofing and Bluetooth on the latest paperwhite, this has more storage and was only available in Japan. (Works fine everywhere)

4 has 5 backlight leds VS 3's 4 leds. Has waterproof, Bluetooth and screen is flush where as the 3 screen is slightly recessed. 4 also has the option to go black screen white font where 3 is only white screen black font.

Reviews I read said the 4's backlight was too bright for them even on low setting in low light conditions. Also if you use audible on the 4 you cannot read along in the book. (I use audible on my phone, so don't need or want it on my reader)

So yes I agree this manga refurb is the best bang for the buck for most folks

What is the difference between this one and a normal papewhite? Will manga titles be easier to read or something or just branding?

Manga version means it has 32gb of on board storage. Otherwise it is the same as a regular Paperwhite 3 (except maybe the color might be different. Don't know about that)

It has more memory, and has panel reading mode for reading manga panels, although reviews I read said pinch and zoom method worked better

so nearly double price? If people don't care for the waterproofing this refurb unit is great for most

I think there are numerous improvements in the weight, curves and back light in 2019 model.

I'm not sure about anyone else, but isn't one of the main draws of being able to play audible on your kindle is being able to read along in the book at the same time??

Also for the person who wants the 9in back, I'm with ya brother.
