First, thanks to OG poster for sharing
Been looking for a laptop for a long time(coming from a 2013 HP pavilion AMD A10) and this is much better than I expected for sub $300.
Added the 4GB DDR4 SR-8 2400 stick of Crucial for $13, used like new from Amazon on Prime day, runs in dual per CPUZ.
USE CAUTION with bottom 10 screws(factory loctite on most) On removing one corner screw the tiny threaded metal insert came out of the plastic post( Acer knows this is prone to happen as the female metal inserts are simply pressfit into plastic posts) I recommend do corner screws first out and first back in, middle last...gently. Use plastic cards (2 diff thickness cards is great) start in corners and run/twist- pry cards around and you won't break any tabs off.
I put HDD mount screws in original stamp bag UNDER HDD caddy plastic (where spare HDD ribbon cable is held)
S-mode switch: First it worked, then I updated BIOS from Acer website and it Reversed!?! Then got hung up on "Working" after clickng "Get", pressed windows key and R to "run task" (also can be done from task manager) and type "wsreset" to clear cashe from Windows Store and finally worked... Also used rubbing alcohol to remove advertising sticker adhesive residue off deck. Hope this helps someone!

Yes, and grandma will appreciate the IPS screen, which is hard to find at this price. If you or a friend is even slightly handy with computers, open it up and add a 4GB DDR4 SODIMM (<$20).

Got my laptop yesterday -- video is accurate for opening the bottom:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XiadRhJ70Rs

Manufacture date: 6/9/2019

RAM: SK Hynix
4GB 1Rx16 PC4-2666V-SC0-11
HMA851S6JJR6N-VK

Wireless card:
Qualcomm Atheros QCNFA344A

M.2 SSD:
Western Digital PC SN520 NVMe SSD 128GB
M.2 2280-S3-B-M
SDAPNUW-128G-1014

Installed a 8GB Ballistix Sport BLS8G4S26BFSDK stick and it works fine with factory 4GB Hynix -- will install 2nd 8GB stick and 2.5" SSD later today

Logged into my Microsoft account during setup and Windows 10 S did activate properly on its own -- no problem converting to Win 10 Home afterwards

Came with BIOS v1.02 -- updated it to BIOS v1.03

Keep tapping F2 on startup to enter BIOS settings -- you can change function key behavior (F1-F12 keys) back to normal and you can also disable keyboard lighting timeout so the keyboard lights won't keep turning off after a few seconds

----
Edit:

Downloaded Win 10 ISO (Win10_1903_V1_English_x64.iso) and did a clean install using bootable USB

Done upgrading laptop:
2.5" SanDisk Ultra 512GB SSD
2x 8GB Ballistix RAM
Intel 9260 wireless card

How's this compared to the FP Asus Vivobook deal from Walmart?

Not bad. Get a cheap extra 4gb 2666 on ebay, and this has the option for a 2.5" drive for extra storage.
But, you probably have to buy on ebay, or order the $10-12 cable from Acer, unless they send it for free?
But better to just buy a 256-1TB M2 drive from someone on prime day, for cheap.

In a question/answer on Amazon, Acer responded and said laptops that ship sith a SSD do not have the option of a 2.5" HDD. FYI.

Looks like there is no additional slot to add a SSD as compared to the Walmart vivobook deal

There's a photo and a review that shows space for a 2.5", and in the corner the NVMe. So that's a bit of a suspicious response by the manufacturer.
