Hey guys,

I was wondering what you all think about the current FP Ryzen 2600X for $109 if we consider Rakuten $28-ish in point and $7-ish Paypal Discover Cashback? Is the performance difference worth it? The 2600 uses only 65W vs. 95W [techspot.com] on the 2600X; therefore, the overclock headroom is a bit similar if we add more voltage to the 2600. However, the 2600X is a better binned chip and faster at the stock clock.
In addition, for a strict deal comparison, the OP also comes with a free 3-month Xbox Game Pass if we consider it an added value to the deal.

Cheers,
TL

The 2600X also comes with a better stock cooler, the Wraith Spire, versus the 2600 which comes with the Wraith Stealth.

In for 1, now I just need a decent motherboard and some ram. Any recommendations? I would like something with 4 ram slots and I would only be running a single GTX 750Ti. Overclocking would be nice but not needed.

If you're going for low budged may wanna hit Hardware swap on reddit and ask for a B350/B450 board with 3200Mhz ram. Just make sure the Bios is updated on the board because gen 1 B350 needs a bios update to use Zen 1+ chips.

uhhh yes. The CPU doesn't effect that at all. It will more depend on your motherboard and having the slot for the graphics card.

I'd personally update that card but it will run just fine with this cpu.

2nd, you should get way more bang for your buck upgrading that GPU vs buying a CPU/Ram/Mobo.

What's the assessment as far as the new zen 2 7/9 series and current threadripper ? Didn't we get a pci-e lane boost with zen 2? At least for the 8 core +? also given motherboard prices of x570 are probably near the cost of threadripper boards. What's the better deal and when?

Also pcie 4.0...do you need less lanes now? Ahhh I'm scurred of missing something. I'd like to have a few raid NVME's eventually & a1080ti (unless the NaViega Radeon 5700LmnopqrstuvXT Super Aniversary Edition with throwback POS cooler for extra sentimental value, and a few extra $ TM all rights reserved is actually as fast as a 1080ti then I'll get the Naviega...the AMD card.
