This isn't an incredible price given a new high end model will replace this one at the beginning of next year but it seems to be pretty good and better than the last Fry's deal for those who have Amazon prime. Price lowers with prime. And the effective cost is really $561.17 if you have the Amazon Prime credit card and a little bit higher than that if you don't.

Yes, there are better deals out there if you aren't putting a priority on a really small form factor but this gets really good reviews for its versatility.

For others wondering, an NUC is intel's extremely tiny desktop i7 computer. I had to google it because the amazing pictures they chose to put on the amazon page (see attached) do not properly explain what the hell NUC is...

Lowest price ever seen. Looks like this could become a front page deal.

I got mine in March from a Newegg combo deal ($799 for HVK, 16G ram and 512G SSD), the effective price for the NUC was like $650-ish (given higher ram price at that time.

Want to build a 3-node VMware cluster using all 8th gen NUC's with 64GB ram each. Already have a 8i7BEH I've been using as my primary workstation connected to a 4K monitor.. ideally wanted two more identical NUCs.. but these deal is too good to pass up for a $600 bare bones 8i7HVK. These things sell for around $700 used on Ebay for a bare bones 8i7HVK.

Guess at worse I could keep the HVK and use it as the primary workstation connected to a 4K monitor.. then convert the BEH to VMware node. The HVK has was more I/O and much better graphics.

I would suggest putting Hades Canyon in the title.
This is a very good price considering it is not being sold anywhere else for less than $800 new. I bought a used one from Amazon for $749.99 a week ago. This is new and more than $100 cheaper even with tax. I returned the used one immediately.
The machine is pretty capable for such a small form factor. There are a ton of I/Os and you can expand with Thunderbolt 3.
There hasn't been news on the Ghost Canyon since December 2018. Supposedly it would support PCIe x16 for desktop graphic cards. If that is the case, it would be a much larger NUC for sure.

I pulled the trigger on this, along with a 1 TB Crucial nvme drive and two 8gb sticks of Crucial memory, all for under $750 before tax.

great product, I have been using it for a year, plenty of features and ports. Intel is still actively updating its firmware.

I've been using the previous generation, skull canyon, as my primary development machine and it's been flawless. Plenty of power for multiple vms and portability when I need it. Great price on the hades canyon so I just grabbed one.
