Comparing the PQ65 which is a year old and lower tier than the PX isn't really the same thing.

I bought this last week when it was 1499. I am coming from a 2016 P65 C1 and other than being brighter than that TV the quality is identical. Not worth it.

I am def going LG OLED C8 for sure now when it hits 1499 which should be on or before Black Friday.

I wish the px 75 went on sale

Update: oh wait it is on sale: https://www.costco.com/Vizio-75%22-Class-(74.5%22-Diag.)-4K-UHD-Quantum-LED-LCD-TV.product.100496035.html

The question is, this or the Samsung 75 Q70R? That went on sale at Amazon and elsewhere today for 2199...

I have the PQ65 from last year. Great TV, but the blooming is just too much. Will be returning shortly and getting a TCL. More zones doesn't fix the problem, because Vizios FALD algorithm is just too aggressive.

The PQ65 is rated 0.1 over the X version. Not sure why.

Maybe uhhh it's better! I have it and it's amazing. Newer isn't always better and it certainly ain't $600 better.

Seems like Vizio has improved this for the 2019 Quantum X. From RTings.com's review,
Quote :
There is noticeably less blooming around bright objects than last year's model. There can still be some noticeable blooming around subtitles in dark scenes though, as well as around very bright objects in dark scenes, but it's better than previous models.
