You would think with all the waves of refurbished pixel shifting 4k projectors going on sale for $600-800, you would think that the px727, and 747 would have followed suit.

This is kind of a meh deal. Benq had refurb TK800's and HT2550s for under $700 recently I believe. I wouldnt spend $900 on these, the newer ones coming out are significantly better gen 2 fixing a lot of issues from gen 1 of the 0.47" 4k DLPs.

Any opinion on this projector versus the Epson 3700? Best Buy has them both for $899. I have my projector mounted directly square with my screen so I don't think the lens shift of the Epson would be a benefit. But I am wondering if the higher contrast of the Epson would provide a better picture at 1080P then the Viewsonic at 4K. I also do not have any sources for 4K content other then streaming and I only get 1 terabyte worth of data a month without overage charges, so I usually stream at 1080P and watch OTA TV. I am also considering the HD27HDR because of the 120 scan rate and low input lag, but for some reason only want it if it comes down to $499 and it hasn't dropped below $579 for over a year, unless refurbished.

Yeah but it isn't anymore. So if someone needs a projector now, it's a deal.

Pretty sure it'll happen again, or may even be cheaper... Normally people looking for deals are not in a hurry to buy....

This is not a deal awhile back this was the exact same price on amazon and it had a rebate attached to it, although I am not sure how the rebate ended up. Also I picked this up, and was not impressed at all. I do not recommend this projector.

Well if that's your philosophy might as well always hold out, since technology will continuously be updated and prices will fall.
