That train ride from NY Penn station to Newark is like a nightmarish hellscape. I'm pretty sure if a Fallout is were filmed, they would do it in that stretch of New Jersey.

Those little ponds all full of garbage. The flat bleak wasteland of defunct junk yards. Disgusting.

Good price on the flight. New Orleans is awesome.

I would have jumped all over this if it was JFK because I can generally get to JFK super cheap/free with points from where I am but I never get a deal to EWR

Why not find a friend or family to drop you off at the airport? I mean even toss them $50..... So strange to see so many people saying the same thing.

Got excited first. Then realized it is to EWR. Transportation cost+headache doesn't worth it. I prefer to pay more and fly to JFK.
Exactly! I wish people would stop categorizing EWR as a NYC airport. It only is if you live in Manhattan (barely). Anyone in Brooklyn, Queens, LI, SI, Bronx, and the rest of Manhattan knows LGA and JFK are the easiest choices. Frown

not sure i agree since i live on SI and it's like a 10 min ride and never had a problem at EWR

getting to JFK and LGA... depending on departure time the travel there is horrendous... plus this is a rare deal for SI-ers getting a departure from EWR

Very few people in New York drive, so it's not easy to find a friend or family member with a car, much less one willing to drive all the way to Newark.
