The normal version is $25, 3g version is $30 in good condition.

Good post primeday deal. $15 cheaper than they were last month.

This can be traded in to Amazon for $25 gift card, and a discount on another amazon device.
If you purchase something through a post on our site, Slickdeals may get a small share of the sale.

Does anyone know the current trade in value on this? I cannot seem to find it... Only appears to go back to the 5th generation

I might be wrong, but I think the 1st generation Kindle Paperwhite is the 5th Generation Kindle

Well that is confusing lol. From what I can tell, this would be a $25 trade in, so not a MM opportunity, unless you wanted to launder some Woot gift cards. Either way, a good price on the reader , if you need one!

I think its a good trade in value if you add in the extra 25% or whatever the upgrade trade in percentage might be when you trade it in.

Oh yea, good point! I forgot about those credits as I already have one of those banked,

I earned one for trading in a kindle keyboard, and then earned another when I traded in my kindle touch. I used one of the 25%'s on the prime day paperwhite deal, and have the other 25% still sitting there.

So a potential MM if you want to bank a 25% off a new kindle device. At the very least, you will come out at 0 (buy for 25 , trade in for 25) and could use the 25% off for a future date.

That assumes, however, they are still doing the 25% thing?

I think Amazon might drop it to 20% or lower

Yeah as of right now it's still 25% but if we wait till the next kindle discounts to stack them it'll probably be lower, with this paperwhite also probably having lower value.

Right.. it may be a good idea to buy this refurb paperwhite and then trade in for the latest paperwhite at 25% off.

$85×0.75... Or $63.75

Is this a decent Kindle to use (not trade in)? I've never owned a Kindle before but am interested in the paperwhite. Not a huge reader so wouldn't need anything fancy, and don't want to spend $85 right now on the newer one.
