Good deal on a simple single speed w/ front rack. Steel frame.

Nice find. Frame appears to be hi tensile steel which is not as desirable as cro-moly. That said, it's hard to bash a $176. bike with decent specs. Not sure how that front rack would be helpful as it should be on the rear. The Raleigh Preston has more appeal to me due to disc brakes and design. YMMV. Sadly, no XL sizes in either and that means no go for anyone 6'.

I bought one of these as a gift a few years ago. It's actually a very nice bike.
It comes packaged better than most bikes. Uses reusable velcro straps instead of the normal zip ties and includes higher quality setup tools.

The steel is actually pretty good for a modern bike. Better than anything you could get at a department store. It's stamped and looks to be a high output steel but it is well designed. Thin with nice welds and clearly designed from the ground up for this bike.

One thing I would say is buy a size down if you are on the edge of sizing. The bike isn't very customizable because of the retro one piece stem handle bar combo. Also, they're size range seems to lean towards the absolute smallest rider and not the ideal so smaller is safer.

For 175 can't beat the price. Will be a heavy bike, but would be a good city commuter bike overall.

I actually wouldn't buy an XL unless you're over 6'1". They're ranges are more meaningful when looking at the smallest rider that will fit. An XL would mean slamming the seat and stretching forward for anyone 6'.

I agree that the packaging on this is high quality and the bike is as well. I got this bike a year and a half ago for a similar price.

Raleigh Bikes Carlton 8 Mixte Women's City Bike, Purple, 56cm/Large https://www.amazon.com/dp/B073Q2D...lDbVPTP9Z0

It was most likely a price mistake (thanks SD!) so while it's not the same exact bike, it appears to be the same frame and similar parts. Mine is NOT single speed, but wouldn't be much of an issue if it did not have gears.

I am a 220 lbs, 5'11" guy, but I love purple so I took a chance on the fit for the bike since the price was great and I knew I could resell if I wanted to. The quality of this bike is great. It's comfortable and well balanced. I can ride no hands with ease.

So if you are okay with single speed, this is a solid bike that I recommend.
