This is thinner and (very very slightly) lighter than the Helios 300, but even at it's non sale price I think the Helios presents a better cost/performance ratio. This is, however, not a bad deal or computer by any means so if it's the style you want then go for it- Acer just happens to be edging out the competition right now.

If it's thinner and lighter, the thermals surely will be more hot, no? The helios 300 afaik comes undervolted out of the box, giving any thermal throttle potential a significant reduction.

I don't believe it supports charging (on this particular model) but I've also heard otherwise.

No gaming laptop support that as Type-C Power delivery maxed out to 100W and all standard gaming laptop require more power.

Great website...ordered a laptop and no confirmation email and it wont show in order history....but of course the "you setup an account" email came through instantly.

Helios is ugly, bulky and has a slower graphics card.

If you have an ID.me account (for Students, Teachers, Military, EMTs, Gov't employees) you can get an extra 5% off when you sign into your account at checkout. Also a certain cashback site is offering 9% cashback at Lenovo.com. Solid deal.

I actually like the B&H photo deal due to no tax makes it the same price for me and doesn't look.........Like the Helios does. Anyone have an argument against the B&H photo deal? I'll prob grab it today.

Nope, I was very close to pulling the trigger on this deal but decided to wait for Prime Day and lucked out and got the Helios 300 for $999. Otherwise I probably would have gone for this one. When you consider no tax and no needing to upgrade storage right away since this one has a 1TB nvme drive, it's not a huge difference in price.
