We desperately need a car/sedan. I want GM vehicle. Nothing to buy any more. Malibu or Regal Sportback. That's it.
I like the Regal. Test drove the Regal TourX (the wagon). Nice enough car, and truly gorgeous in the available maroon color, but for my tastes it needs to be un-SUV'd (the body cladding is ridiculous, ride height pointlessly raised, all to compete with the Outback and the cladded Euro-wagons). The Opel Insignia GSi Sports Tourer available in Europe is nearly perfect, would be even more so with the manual that they used to offer in the Insignia/Regal sedans. But I reckon in the current SUV-mad USA it would sell even worse than the TourX does now, which is very badly indeed. I looked up the sales numbers for that car as it is now and IIRC they're selling maybe 100/mo across the whole of the USA. Good news is that if you want one they are so heavily discounted that it almost makes you wonder if the prices are a misprint. We were 50/50 on the TourX but we went a totally different way to keep our car count down (two adults in the house and the TourX would've been a 4th vehicle, decided not to do that).

TourX is a waste, as you stated. What did U buy...nothing???

It's not a "waste", it just didn't fit the plan. Apparently it doesn't fit MANY people's plans, they're practically nailed to the showroom floor. For my next "car" I want a wagon so the TourX will get looked at again. When heavily discounted they make a very compelling case, but the resale will be so bad that it might be eliminated from contention again.

We got a pickup. Need something to tow our camper. We had a V8 Durango but my other half never felt totally comfortable dragging around a 6500lb load behind it, and it was starting to have a few small problems, so it had to go. My idea was keep the D as a tow vehicle and get a more reasonable daily driver for her, but again 4 cars in the house.... The D was a Citadel and had some value still so we just sold it and got a Ram EcoDiesel, abandoning the "car" plan altogether.

Thanks, OP - even though the mag has thinned out a bit, it's still easily worth $3 a year for cripes sake. Thumbs up on this deal.

I've had good luck with them in the past. However the last time I ordered Motor Trend from them, they did some weird thing and charged me $2.85 a month. I called them to cancel and they supposedly changed it to $2 for 12 months. However I never got charged for it and they didn't remove the $2.85 charges. So I disputed it with my credit card company.

So be careful with them.

I'm kinda worried it won't be around 4 years from now, but for $12 I'll take the chance

Is this for print edition only? Or does it include digital? Actually I'd rather not have print at all and have digital only...

I'd rather spend the $12 for oil.

Yep! These mags were really good, many many many years ago. Now it's so generic. People find all this online. Sad to see all the printed media dying a slow painful death. I wonder what this magazine will be like in 4 years.Confused

Watch out for the auto renewal. The checkout page says the auto renewal will be the same price:
Quote :
As an additional benefit, you will be enrolled in our DiscountLock service, which will automatically renew your subscription at the same price so you never miss an issue or worry about paying a higher price.
But their policy page (https://www.discountmags.com/disc...k_benefits) doesn't:
Quote :
DiscountLock is our optional renewal program built to offer you an automatic renewal at the same price you originally paid. If for some reason the same price is not available, we will automatically renew your subscription at the best available price.

Don't waste your money on this. I have barely received a magazine in the last 8months. Got 4 out of 12 last year. If uou get the digital subscription it might be worth.

I'm on my second sub renewal from these cut-price deals. I missed one issue about two years ago and complained to C&D about the missing issue... they won't send you a replacement but they will extend your subscription another month.

Their Q&A page recommends that if you miss an issue you should contact them for an extension and then go swipe a hard copy from the waiting room of your favorite tire shop or dentist's office.
