YMMV Frontier FiOS Internet 500/500 in select areas for $53.98 (before taxes) per month (possible $100 Visa gift card as well with 2-year contract)

This promotion isn't displayed on Frontier's site, but if you call and ask about the 500/500 FiOS internet plan and it's available in your area (I'm in southern California), there should be a promotion for $39.99.

See https://internet.frontier.com/fios.html for retail pricing on Frontier's site.

If you're a new customer, there's a $75 installation fee, but if you ask nicely you might be able to get it waived. I got it waived, but there's some work you gotta put in: they split up the $75 installation fee into three equal payments that they add onto your first three monthly bills, and you have to manually call in for each of those months to get it waived. Additionally, if you're a new customer like myself signing up for new service, there's a $9.99 delivery fee that is tacked on to the first month's payment.

As you may or may not already know, Verizon/Frontier FiOS charges a $10 monthly router fee that you cannot get out of, even if you use your own device.

There's a $3.99 internet surcharge fee that is also unavoidable.

All in, it's $39.99 + $10 + $3.99 = $53.98 per month before local taxes. If you're a new customer, there might be additional installation and delivery fees added to your first few months.

Also ask about the $100 Visa gift card and make sure that gets included in your promotion, but you'll have to sign up for a two year contract (early termination fees are pretty high, I think in the neighborhood of $240 the first year and $120 the second year). The sales reps I talked with said that this promotion is likely to stay around for a while, but isn't heavily advertised just yet. They're phasing out the 300/300 internet plan in favor of the 500/500, so until that happens you'll probably have to call in. Good luck!

I've often thought about how to get these "for new customers" deals. Comcrap offers month-to-month internet service where I live. I thought about getting that for 1-2 months at most while cancelling Frontier. Then, after Frontier kicks-in again, dropping Comcrap.

Just need to pull that trigger now...

does calling their customer loyalty department do anything? i'm coming from spectrum and they were always able to match first-time customer promotions for me the last few years.

I called Frontier on two separate occasions without success. Mad

It seems they want us to play this game, so we play... /shrug

A few 200/200 customers were able to get a free upgrade as well.

This offer seems to be for California, Texas, and Florida.

Thanks AND repped. I am just so scared of their CS lol. They say something else and bill will something else. I had to fight each year.

Edit: I was successfully able to upgrade 500/500 with same price which is $65 + 4 bucks tax.

This is the first time Frontier gets a thumbs up from me. I don't feel so bitter about Verizon leaving us now.

I placed an order for 200/200 a few months back. The technician came out without any greeting and went to work on the installation on the side of the house. I asked him what kind of speed am I getting, he looked at his paper work and told me 30/30. I called customer service and told them I ordered 200/200, was told my area doesn't support that speed, only up to 150/150. But he can put me on the 150 and leave a note that I wanted the 200/200 price. Red flags went up since I've read horror stories of dealing with customer service. Needless to say I canceled it on the spot. Did I over react, what would you have done?

When I entered my zip code... I don't see 200/200 or even 100/100, fastest is 45 mbps and spectrum can do 200 mbps for that price

A lot of places dont have the infrastructure to support the higher speeds. The website, in my experience, has been accurate in telling you what you can get. If they dont show you the 200/200 speed as a promotion then it's not available (or any higher speeds) in your area.
