You can't be serious. This TV beats the m series vizio. Its brighter, wider color spectrum, freesync, better OS. And even then, below 500 is a stretch.

I wouldn't take CNET too seriously... they've trashed very good TVs in the past. Rtings is a more consistent reviewer

These should be under $500, you have TV like M558-G1 with same or better performance now.

Edge lit vs local dimming.

CNET

"The M's picture is excellent, in the same league with more expensive sets like the Samsung Q7 and Sony X950G in my side-by-side comparisons."

This should be under $500 for a used TV.

Edge lit with brighter screen in both non HDR and HDR. It's about twice as bright I believe and the q7fn has very good blacks in dark room WITHOUT local dimming. But ignore the FACT that it has a wider color spectrum and other specs such as freesync and use an opinion of "side by side they look the same" as a deciding factor.

Oh and it's open box unused ...show me ANY 55" TV of this specs new for under 500....I'll wait.

"This item will be accompanied with a 1 Year CPS in home warranty. Manufacturer's warranty does not apply."

So you get an inferior warranty. CC will not extend the warranty on this. They will treat open box like a used TV.

I agree but rtings hasn't evaluated the 2019 M series yet.

I really want a 55" q80 for 1k or less. Using it as a gaming TV for my computer and imo it's the best option.

Bottom Line, comparing this TV to M558-G1 is silly.
