Yeah the sub $400 2070 high end non reference cards make sense over the base 2060 super but paying $70 more for for a 2080 over a 2070 super does not.

The level of fail in that article is breathtaking. The 2070 Super is literally a cut down 2080 with a slightly higher base boost clock. Any decent 2080 is going to beat a typical 2070S handily, and a high power limit 2080 (like the FTW3 on sale for $690 a couple months ago) will run rings around it.

The PNY card listed here isn't anything special, but it should still beat all the 2070S out there.

Beat the 2070s? Yes. Handily? No. I bought both a 2070s and a 2080 to compare. Returned the 2080 because the average FPS increase was like 5-8FPS
