This is the Ascend card with a new name, so I would say no.

I think they just changed it from the previous offer, which I think was better. It was 125k points and only 2k in 3 months spending requirement. 4K is too much.

Roughly 0.5 cents each toward hotel rooms... you can sometimes do a decent bit better for some bookings (and if you book 4 reward nights in a row you get the 5th night free- also reward bookings avoid resort fees)

Amex bonuses are typically once per card per lifetime

no you cannot. amex has once in lifetime restriction, but it stays in the system only 7 years

Sorry, I don't look at other sites. Also, I searched SD and didn't see it posted, so thought of sharing it for anyone who could benefit. Thanks for letting me know though.

It also comes with a free weekend night if you meet the spend requirement. If used at a luxury property, it could be worth $$$. They also added one additional month (4 months) to meet the spend requirement.

Give the OP a break. I've been on SD for over 10 years and I don't even know churner sites are.

I think there should be a separate forum for these "deals".

First of all, it is not a sale, and you're not buying a tangible product or service.

You apply for a credit card, spend $4000 on it within a time period, and you get a bunch of points that is worth roughly $500 - $700 in value IF you do a bunch more work to find a hotel you want to stay at for the price you were willing to pay anyway.

I feel that for the average person (not frequent traveler nor "churner"), this is a poor deal considering all the work and learning you need to get the $500-700 value.

For those that doesn't know, "churners" are people that profit from these credit card deals. They apply for a lot of these credit cards, get the bonus, then apply again... and again. This is call "churning". The trick is to meet the spending requirement at the lowest cost, and stay within the rules of the credit card company so they don't close your account and black list you. This game is getting more and more difficult.

Inevitably, someone will ask - what is the 130,000 hilton points worth in gift cards: I think Amazon's rate is 1 point = $0.002. (very bad value unless you plan to never use them in a Hilton brand hotel)
